Dream Rooms
All images can be seen as windows into other sensory dimensions. They
are boundaries, transparent yet veiled in enigma, marking the threshold
to a terra incognita of the mind. The photos in the Dream Rooms
series use two seemingly antithetical motifs to explore the liminal
function of the image. Curtains, billowing and sometimes parting,
are a metaphor for the dreamlike, intuitive element of the unconscious
that is constantly shaping our perceptions and experience of the world.
Meanwhile, the spectral, slightly distorted shapes and figures reflected
in the glass facades and the surface of the water thematize the temporal
flux of our sensory perceptions. |
