Back&Forth Video installation at eDIT'99, trade fair for post production and digital media, Congress Center, Frankfurt am Main. The video installation consists of two video projections superimposed to create sequences that evoke both film and painting. The video projection red flag runs in a loop on the end wall of the 70 m² room, while the video Back&Forth is projected onto a mirror that revolves 360º around its own axis. Images of whirling dervishes, sequences developed out of still images, revolve around the room and are beamed for seconds at a time onto the red flag video. The soundtrack is a musical arrangement of the Sufi invocatio. Material: video loop (S-VHS, 4 min. 30 sec., 1999), 2 video beamers, rotary motor, mirror, sound (4 loudspeakers)
